About maxieac

I was born in Monterrey, NL, Mexico on December 28, 1983.

From an early age I demonstrated passion for music, especially singing. But it wasn't until high school where I had the opportunity to perform with in front of an audience. I performed in 6 different theater musicals within the comedy genre as a singer and actress.

One of my biggest dreams was to become part of a project that involved music so, before starting college, I auditioned for the Mexican version of the reality tv show “Popstars” where I earned a spot within the top 35 semifinalists, but did not make it for the final 25. However, that did not discourage me to continue singing.

Another big dream for me was to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, but this dream collapsed when my father died. This huge setback put my singing aspirations on hold. I did not give up and decided to apply for college and joined the psychology program at a local university in my hometown. To support myself and continue increasing my singing skills and experience, I began working as a wedding singer.

During my college years continued auditioning for singing and performing gigs. I landed some role and participated in a few projects related to those auditions.

A short film: http://www.dosagentes.com

And an institutional video for an internationally renowned company of home appliances.

Towards the end of college and, as I continued working as a wedding singer, I realized that even when I didn't want to do that for the rest of my life, I was acquiring invaluable experience. I became a versatile singer and defined the style of music I wanted to sing.

Once I graduated from college, I alternated my wedding singer job with an HR consulting for 1 year and 4 months. But, it got to a point where I began asking myself what I was doing there. I was wasting my time. I just wanted to sing. Fortunately, a new opportunity knocked at my door and hope returned to my music career.

So I quit my job and began working on the music project I always wanted to do. Soon the three girl ensemble "Mussa Café" was born:

The group is right now in on "hold" ´cause there are so many thing we want to do together, but we don´t have the "economic support" to make the things we´ve planned.

Currently, I continue preparing myself, shaping my voice and my musical style.
